At 11:30 a.m. the Senate will vote on confirmation of Judy W. Chang to be a Member of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

At 1:45 p.m. the Senate will vote on S. 4445, A bill to protect and expand nationwide access to fertility treatment, including in vitro fertilization.

  • S. Res. 731, Honoring the Victims of the Pulse Night Club Shooting, was agreed to by unanimous consent.

5:43 p.m. Senator Durbin spoke on SCOTUS ethics. He then asked for unanimous consent for the Senate to pass S. 359, Supreme Court Ethics, Recusal, and Transparency Act of 2023. Senators Graham, Kennedy, Lee and Cornyn also spoke against the legislation. Senator Graham objected.

5:32 p.m. Senator Durbin spoke in support of S. 3696, The Defiance Act. He then asked for the Senate to pass S. 3696 with the Grassley and Durbin Substitute amendment. Senator Lummis objected.

3:10 p.m. By a vote of 83-12, the Senate confirmed the nomination of Lindsay S. See to be a Member of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for a term expiring June 30, 2028.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., the Senate will proceed to two roll call votes relative to the following:

1)Confirmation of David Rosner to be a Member of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for a term expiring June 30, 2027.

2)Motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Lindsay S. See to be a Member of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for a term expiring June 30, 2028.

Following the See vote, the Senate will recess until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly caucus luncheons.
