7:03 p.m. ML McConnell asked that when the Senate adjourn tonight it adjourns until 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 29th.  ML McConnell asked u.c. that the Judiciary committee be discharged from consideration and pass by u.c. H.R. 1892, an act to amend Title 4, US Code to provide for the flying of the flag at half staff in any event of the death of a first responder in the line of duty.

6:45 p.m. Senator Casey spoke about tax reform.

6:25 p.m. Senator Whitehouse spoke about climate change.

6:15 p.m. Senator Hoeven spoke supporting tax reform.

6:12 p.m. ML McConnell moved to proceed to S. 1519, Authorizing appropriations for FY 2018 for Military activities of the Department of Defense.

5:30 p.m. The Senate voted to confirm the Nomination of Gregory G. Katsas, of Virginia, to be United States Circuit Judge for the District of Columbia by a roll call vote of 50-48. Senator Kennedy voted no and Senator Manchin voted yes. 2 Senators did not vote: Corker and McCain.

5:20 p.m. Senator Rubio spoke on tax reform.

4:45 p.m. Senator Hatch spoke in favor of the Katsas nomination.

4:29 p.m. Senator Cornyn spoke about tax reform.

4:19 p.m. Senator Hirono spoke about the Katsas nomination.

4:00 p.m. Senator Lankford spoke about debt and deficit.

12:41 p.m. The Senate recessed until 4 p.m.

12:40 p.m. The Senate resumed consideration of the Katsas nomination.

12:29 p.m. Senator Schumer spoke about the Senate agenda and about taxes.

12:10 p.m. Senator Durbin spoke about the GOP tax initiative.

12:05 p.m. Senator Daines took steps to place the 2018 budget reconciliation bill (H.R. 1) on the Senate calendar.

The Senate then proceeded to consideration of S.Res. 343.

The Senate will convene at 12:00 noon.

Following any leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of the nomination of Gregory Katsas to be a US Circuit Judge for the DC Circuit; post cloture.

The Senate will then recess until 4:00 p.m.

At 4:00 p.m., there be 90 minutes remaining on the Katsas nomination. Thus a vote on the nomination is expected at 5:30 p.m.

H.R. 1, to provide a reconciliation pursuant to titles 2 and 5 of the concurrent resolution of the budget for FY 2018 had its first reading on Monday evening.
