6:45p.m. Senator Bennett spoke on nominations on hold.

6:15 p.m. Senator Hirono spoke on Iran and the nominations on hold.

6:00 p.m. Senator Tuberville spoke in defense of his hold on Senate nominations.

5:55 p.m. Senator Duckworth spoke on pending nominations that Senator Tuberville has on hold. He called up a group of nominations en bloc and asked unanimous consent for their confirmation. Senator Tuberville objected.

5:50 p.m. Senator Lee defended Senator Tuberville’s hold and spoke of the use of DOD funds for abortion.

5:30 p.m. Senator Blumenthal spoke on pending nominations that Senator Tuberville has on hold. He called up a group of nominations en bloc and asked unanimous consent for their confirmation. Senator Lee objected.

3:30 p.m. The Senate stands in recess until 5:30 p.m.

3:28 p.m. Senator Moran spoke on police week and honoring the sacrifices of our law enforcement officers.

3:22 p.m. By a vote of 56-43, the Senate passed H.J.Res. 42.

Democrats voting in favor: Senators Cortez Masto, Hassan, King Manchin, Rosen, Shaheen, Sinema, and Tester.

Senator Barrasso did not vote.

2:28 p.m. The Senate began voting on HJ Res 42.

2:25 p.m. Senator Vance spoke on HJ Res 42.

2:22 p.m. Senator Gillibrand achieved UC that the Senate will recess from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. for an all Senators briefing.

2:15 p.m. The Senate returned from the recess.

12:18 p.m. Senator Merkley spoke on his departing speech writer.

12:04 p.m. Senator Cornyn spoke about the debt ceiling.

11:58 a.m. Senator Budd spoke in support of H.R.Res. 42 and crime in DC.

11:51 a.m. Senator Marshall spoke about National Police Week and in support of H.J.Res. 42.

11:30 a.m. Senator Tuberville paid tribute to three Gold Star Families from Alabama.

11:17 a.m. Senator Durbin spoke about Medical School Graduates, paid tribute to Chicago Police Officer Aréanah Preston and gun violence.

11:10 a.m. Senator Grassley spoke about Congressional oversight.

11:03 a.m. Senator Thune spoke on the debt ceiling and federal spending.

10:28 a.m. Republican Leader McConnell spoke on debt limit negotiations and on Title 42.

10:16 a.m. Majority Leader Schumer had H.R. 2 read for the second time. He then spoke on the debt limit, budget and nominations.

10:00 a.m. The Senate convened.

The Senate will convene at 10:00 a.m. and following any Leader remarks, will proceed to the consideration of H.J.Res.42, disapproving the action of the District of Columbia Council in approving the Comprehensive Policing and Justice Reform Amendment Act of 2022.

The Senate will recess from 12:30pm until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly caucus meetings.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., the Senate will vote on passage of H.J.Res.42.
