7:12 p.m. Majority Leader wrapped up for the evening. Items passed:
Exec calendar #848, confirming Brig Generals Walker Field and Jason Woodworth by voice vote.
S. 2514, amending the Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Act was passed by voice vote.
HR 5536, requiring transparency in notices of funding opportunity was passed by unanimous consent.
S 4243, awarding the Congressional Gold Medal to Shirley Chisolm posthumously was passed by voice vote.
S. 5355 ensuring the National Advisory Council on Indian Education includes at least one member of a tribal college or university was passed by unanimous consent.
S 1956, improving the commercialization of federal research by domestic manufacturers was passed by unanimous consent.
S. 4107, require AMTRAK to report to Congress about compliance was passed by unanimous consent.
S. 3277, amending the marine debris act was passed by unanimous consent.
S. 4569, the  “Tools to Address Known Exploitation by Immobilizing Technological Deepfakes on Websites and Networks Act” was passed by voice vote.
HR 7764, establishing a commission to study the potential transfer of the National Museum of American Jewish History the Smithsonian was passed by voice vote.
S Res 920, designating November 2024 National Homeless Children and Youth Awareness Month was passed by unanimous consent.
S Res 921, remembering December 6, 2019 attack on Pensacola Florida was passed by unanimous consent.

6:35 p.m. The Senate confirmed the Weilheimer nomination on a party line vote of 50-48. Senators Sinema and Vance were absent.

5:25 p.m. The Senate is now voting on confirmation of the nomination of Gail Weilheimer to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

5:01 p.m. Senators Capito, Collins, Barrasso, Warner, and Romney spoke about Senator Manchin retirement.

4:31 p.m. Senator Manchin began his farewell speech.

4:26 p.m. Senator Cornyn spoke on the Biden Administration and energy.

4:26 p.m. By a vote of 50-48, the Senate confirmed the nomination of Catherine Henry to be US District Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Senators Sinema and Vance did not vote.

3:15 p.m. The Senate is now voting on confirmation of the nomination of Catherine Henry to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

3:14 p.m. By a vote of 50-48, the Senate confirmed the nomination of Sparkle L. Sooknanan to be US District Judge for the District of Columbia.

  • The Vote was party line with Senators Sinema and Vance not voting.

2:15 p.m. The Senate is now voting on the confirmation of Sparkle Sooknanan to be United States District Judge for the District of Columbia.

12:46 p.m. The Senate stands in recess until 2:15 p.m.

12:33 p.m. Senator Durbin paid tribute to Senators Butler and Manchin, spoke on federal judges, and on immigration.

12:16 p.m. Majority Leader Schumer spoke on the Democrats leadership elections and paid tribute to Senators Butler and Manchin.

12:00 p.m. The Senate convened.

The Senate will convene at 12:00 p.m. and following any Leader remarks will resume consideration of the nomination of Anthony Brindisi to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of New York.

The Senate will recess from 12:30 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. to allow for the weekly caucus luncheons. 

At approximately 2:15 p.m. the Senate will proceed to two roll call votes:
1. Confirmation of the nomination of Sparkle Sooknanan to be United States District Judge for the District of Columbia.
2. Confirmation of the nomination of Catherine Henry to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Additional votes are expected during today’s session.
