ML McConnell asked u.c. that the Judiciary committee be discharged from consideration and pass by u.c. H.R. 1892, an act to amend Title 4, US Code to provide for the flying of the flag at half staff in any event of the death of a first responder in the line of duty.

5:30 p.m. The Senate voted to confirm the Nomination of Gregory G. Katsas, of Virginia, to be United States Circuit Judge for the District of Columbia by a roll call vote of 50-48. Senator Kennedy voted no and Senator Manchin voted yes. 2 Senators did not vote: Corker and McCain.

Following any leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of the nomination of Gregory Katsas to be a US Circuit Judge for the DC Circuit; post cloture.
The Senate will then recess until 4:00 p.m.
At 4:00 p.m., there be 90 minutes remaining on the Katsas nomination. Thus a vote on the nomination is expected at 5:30 p.m.
H.R. 1, to provide a reconciliation pursuant to titles 2 and 5 of the concurrent resolution of the budget for FY 2018 had its first reading on Monday evening.
