  • Majority Leader Thune filed cloture on the nomination of Michael Faulkender to be Deputy Secretary of the Department of the Treasury.
  • By unanimous consent, the Senate agreed to S.Res.134, designating March 15, 2025 as National Osceola Turkey Day.

7:11 p.m. By a vote of 60-31, the Senate confirmed the Landau nomination.

6:22 p.m. The Senate confirmed the Phelan nomination by a vote of 62-30.

3:57 p.m. Senator Cornyn spoke on his travels in Texas last week. He then spoke on energy.

3:33 p.m. Democratic Leader Schumer spoke on today’s current events and military intelligence. He then spoke about President Trump regarding social security and the Department of Education.

The Senate will convene at 3:00 p.m. and following any leader remarks, will resume consideration of the nomination of John Phelan to be Secretary of the Navy.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., the Senate will proceed to two votes:
1. Confirmation of the nomination of Christopher Landau to be Deputy Secretary of State.
2. Confirmation of the nomination John Phelan to be Secretary of the Navy.
