6: 50 p.m. The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00am on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of Executive Calendar #380 Patricia L. Lee, of South Carolina, to be a Member of the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board.

At approximately 12:00pm, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Lee nomination.  The Senate will then recess until 2:15pm to allow for weekly caucus meetings.

If cloture is invoked on the Lee nomination, all post-cloture time will be considered expired and the Senate will vote on confirmation at approximately 2:15pm, followed by a vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #536 Robin Michelle Meriweather, of Virginia, to be a Judge of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.

If cloture is invoked on the Meriweather nomination, all post-cloture time will be considered expired at 5:45pm and the Senate will vote on confirmation of the nomination, followed by the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #512 Charles J. Willoughby, Jr., of the District of Columbia, to be an Associate Judge of the D.C. Superior Court.

  4. Executive Calendar #623 Anne Marie Wagner, of Virginia, to be a Member of the Federal Labor Relations Authority for a term of five years expiring July 1, 2029
  5. Motion to proceed to Cal. #420, S.4554 Reproductive Freedom for Women Act
  6. Executive Calendar #621 Colleen Duffy Kiko, of North Dakota, to be a Member of the Federal Labor Relations Authority for a term of five years expiring July 29, 2027

5:30 p.m. The Senate is now voting on confirmation of Nancy Maldonado to be United States Circuit Judge for the Seventh Circuit. The nomination was confirmed by a vote of 47-43.

5:11 p.m. Senator Cassidy spoke on flood insurance.

4:53 p.m. Senator Cornyn spoke on Hurricane Beryl.

4:40 p.m. Senator Durbin spoke in support of the Maldonado nomination

4:09 p.m. Senator Grassley spoke on NATO.

3:42 p.m. Republican Leader McConnell spoke the NATO summit and SCOTUS.

3:28 p.m. Majority Leader Schumer spoke about SCOTUS, reproductive health and Judicial nominations.

3:00 p.m. The Senate convened.

The Senate will convene at 3:00 p.m. and following any Leader remarks will resume consideration of the nomination of Nancy Maldonado to be United States Circuit Judge for the Seventh Circuit.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Maldonado nomination.

Cloture has been filed on the following nominations:
Patricia Lee to be a Member of the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board for a term expiring October 18, 2027.
Robin Meriweather to be a Judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims for a term of fifteen years.
Charles Willoughby to be an Associate Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia for the term of fifteen years.
