  • Majority Leader Schumer filed cloture on Executive Calendar #709 Joseph Francis Saporito, Jr. to be United States District Judge for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
  • Majority Leader Schumer filed cloture on Executive Calendar #582 Dorothy Camille Shea to be Deputy Representative of the United States of America to the United Nations, with the rank and status of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and the Deputy Representative of the United States.
  • Majority Leader Schumer filed cloture on the motion to proceed to H.R.7024, Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act of 2024.
  • By unanimous consent, the Senate passed S. 4610, A bill to amend Title 46 United States Code to designate the Bald Eagle as the National Bird
  • By unanimous consent, the Senate passed S.3574, A bill to amend Chapter 3 of Title 36 United States Code to designate the Mastadon as the National Fossil of the United States

6:54 p.m. By a vote of 73-13, the Senate confirmed the nomination of Adam Landy to be a Judge of the United States Tax Court.

5:29 p.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on confirmation of the nomination of Adam Landy to be a Judge of the United States Tax Court.

5:10 p.m. Senator Cassidy spoke about social security, energy, the national flood insurance program and Venezuela.

5:00 p.m. Senator Schatz spoke about KOSA/COPPA.

4:39 p.m. Senator Cornyn spoke about SCOTUS and the southern border.

4:27 p.m. Majority Leader Schumer spoke about KOSA/COPPA, SCOTUS and the Iowa abortion ban.

4:18 p.m. Senator Stabenow spoke about her chief of staff, who is leaving her office.

4:03 p.m. Senator Murkowski spoke about the Arctic and in support of the nomination of Dr. Mike Sfraga to be Ambassador-at-Large for the Arctic Region

The Senate will convene at 3:00 p.m. and following any Leader remarks will resume consideration of the nomination of Stacey Neumann to be United States District Judge for the District of Maine.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., the Senate will proceed to a vote on confirmation of the nomination of Adam Landy to be a Judge of the United States Tax Court.

If cloture is invoked on the Neumann nomination on Tuesday, July 30, upon disposition of the nomination the Senate will proceed to a vote on the motion to concur in the House amendment to S.2073 with amendment (3021) (KOSA/COPPA).

If cloture is not invoked on the Neumann nomination, the vote on the motion to concur in the House amendment to S. 2073 with amendment (3021) (KOSA/COPPA) will occur at 2:15pm on Tuesday, July 30.
