7:15 p.m. The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 11th. Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume post-cloture consideration of the nomination of Tulsi Gabbard to be Director of National Intelligence with all time during Morning Business, recess, adjournment, and Leader remarks counting post-cloture.

The Senate will recess from 12:30 p.m. – 2:15 p.m. to allow for weekly caucus lunches.

7:06 p.m. Senator Welch spoke on President Trump.

7:03 p.m. Majority Leader Thune began wrap-up:

  • The Chair announced, on behalf of the Committee on Finance, that the following senators are designated to serve on the Joint Committee on Taxation: Senators Crapo, Grassley, Cornyn, Wyden, and Cantwell.
  • H.R. 29, Laken Riley Act, was placed on the calendar under Rule 14.

6:34 p.m. Senators Bennet and Schiff spoke on the Gabbard nomination.

6:33 p.m. By a vote of 52-46, the Senate invoked cloture on the nomination of Tulsi Gabbard to be Director of National Intelligence. Senators not voting: Senators Tillis & Fetterman

5:31 p.m. The Senate began a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Tulsi Gabbard to be Director of National Intelligence.

5:13 p.m. Senator Warner spoke on the Gabbard nomination.

4:29 p.m. Democrat Leader Schumer spoke about the federal funding freeze, the whistleblower portal and the budget.

4:10 p.m. Senator Cornyn spoke about energy and inflation.

3:24 p.m. Senator Durbin spoke on Attorney General Pam Bondi. He then spoke on the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol.

3:14 p.m. Majority Leader Thune spoke on the nomination of Tulsi Gabbard to be Director of National Intelligence.

3:03 p.m. Senator Grassley spoke on the nomination of Brooke Rollins to be Secretary of Agriculture. He then paid tribute to astronaut Peggy Whitson, for her 65th birthday.

3:00 p.m. The Senate is in session.

The Senate will convene at 3:00 p.m. and following any Leader remarks will resume consideration of Executive Calendar #18 Tulsi Gabbard, of Hawaii, to be Director of National Intelligence.

At 5:30 p.m. the Senate will vote on cloture on the Gabbard nomination. This nomination is subject to 30 hours of post cloture debate.
