The Senate convened for a pro forma session today at 6:45 a.m. Senator Sullivan presided and no business was conducted. The Senate will next convene for a pro forma session at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 24th.

The Senate returns for business on Monday, April 28, 2025 at 3:00 p.m.

At that time, following any Leader remarks, the Senate will be in a period of Morning Business.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., the Senate will vote on cloture on the nomination of David Perdue to be Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China.

Cloture has also been filed on the following nominations:

• Warren Stephens to be Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
• Thomas Barrack to be Ambassador to the Republic of Turkey.
• Tilman Fertitta to be Ambassador to the Italian Republic, and to serve concurrently to the Republic of San Marino.
