The Senate convened for a pro forma session at 11:45 a.m. Senator Duckworth presided and no business was conducted.

The Senate will return for business at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of the nomination of Philip Nathan Jefferson to be Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System for a term of four years.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Jefferson nomination.
