  • S. Res. 69-March 29, 2019 as Vietnam Veterans Day
  • S. Res. 100-Recognizing the heritage, culture and contributions of American Indian, Alaskan Native and Native Hawaiian women in the U.S.
  • S.Res. 118-Recognizing the importance of paying tribute to those individuals who have retired from the Armed Forces.
  • S. Res. 124-Condemning the terrorist attacks in Christ Church, New Zealand.

3:15 p.m. Senator McConnell filed cloture on H.R. 268, the supplemental appropriations for FY 2019. He also filed cloture on the MTP to S. Res. 50, a resolution improving procedures for the consideration of nominations in the Senate.

2:24 p.m. Senator Lankford spoke about Women’s History Month and the budget.

2:16 p.m. Senator Lee spoke about Brexit.

2:14 p.m. The Nason nomination was confirmed by a vote of 95 to 1. Senator Sanders voted NO. Senators Booker, Moran, Stabenow, and Sullivan were absent.

1:40 p.m. The Senate is now voting on confirmation of Nicole Nason, to be Administrator of the Federal Highway Administration.

1:28 p.m. Senator Carper spoke in support of the Nason nomination.

1:24 p.m. Senator Barrasso spoke in support of the Nason nomination.

10:13 a.m. By voice vote, the Senate passed the motion to proceed to the fiscal year 2019 supplemental appropriation (H.R. 268) and consented to withdraw Amendments #5 and #6. Senator Shelby called up his amendment, #201.

10:12 a.m. Using Rule XIV procedures Senator McConnell placed on the floor H.R. 279, on recognition of the Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians of Montana.

10:03 a.m. Senator McConnell spoke about flooding in Kentucky. He spoke about the Green New Deal and about Democratic proposals on election law, and the makeup of the Supreme Court.

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of the motion to proceed to H.R.268, the supplemental appropriations for FY 2019.

At that time, we expect the motion to proceed to be adopted by voice vote. The Senate will then begin consideration of H.R.268.

At 1:30 p.m., the Senate will proceed to the consideration of Executive Calendar #9, Nicole Nason, to be Administrator of the Federal Highway Administration, with 15 minutes equally divided followed by a vote on confirmation of the Nason nomination.
