The Senate convened at 10:30 a.m. for a pro forma session. Senator Cornyn presided. No business was conducted.

During the coming recess, the Senate will again convene for these pro forma sessions:

— Tuesday, Aug. 7 at 10 a.m.

— Friday, Aug. 10 at 10:30 a.m.

— Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 1 p.m.

The Senate will next convene for regular business at noon on Wednesday, Aug. 15 at noon and will resume consideration of A. Marvin Quattlebaum Jr. of South Carolina to the Fourth U.S. Circuit Appeals Court, with a cloture vote at 5:30 p.m.
