10:17 p.m. The Senate adjourned at 10:17 p.m. and will reconvene at 10 a.m. Tuesday. After leader remarks,  Senator Paul will be recognized until 12:30 p.m. for debate of a motion to discharge S.J. Res. 42, disapproving the Saudi arms sale.

The Senate will recess for caucus luncheons from 12:30 p.m. until 2:15 p.m.

At about 2:25 p.m. Tuesday, the Senate will vote on the Paul motion to discharge. The Senate will then resume debate on the Iran sanctions bill.

10:12 p.m.  Senator McConnell proposed a deal to advance the Iran sanctions bill: a Russia sanctions Amendment #232, by Senator Crapo. Senator McConnell filed cloture on the amendment.  He proposed a second-degree amendment, #233, to the Crapo Amendment #232.

The nomination of Elizabeth Walsh to be assistant secretary of Commerce was referred to the Banking Committee.

By consent the Senate agreed to S. Res. 190 honoring victims of the Orlando attack.

6:26 p.m. Senator Merkley spoke about climate disruption.

6:14 p.m. Senator Wicker spoke about the need to build a stronger Navy.

6:13 p.m. Senator Wicker asked u.c. that following the motion to proceed to S. 722, the Senate proceed to a period of morning business for debate and following those remarks, the Senate stand in recess subject to the call of the chair.

6:13 p.m. The Senate confirmed the nomination of Kenneth Rapuano to be Assistant Secretary of Defense by a vote of 95-1. Senator Sanders voted no. Senators not voting: Burr, Perdue, Risch, and Stabenow.

5:30 p.m. The Senate began voting on the Kenneth Rapuano nomination to be Assistant Secretary of Defense.

5:16 p.m. Senator Rubio spoke about the Orlando night club shooting.

5:01 p.m. Senator Nelson spoke about the Orlando night club shooting.

4:39 p.m. Senator Baldwin spoke about the Orlando night club shooting.

4:27 p.m. Senator Cornyn spoke about health care and the Iran sanctions bill.

4:15 p.m. Minority Leader Schumer spoke on the Orlando night club shootings, Iran sanctions, and health care.

4:02 p.m. Majority Leader McConnell spoke about the Iran sanctions bill and the Obama administration’s  health care law.

The Senate will convene at 4 p.m. and will  resume consideration of the motion to proceed to S. 722, the Iran Sanctions bill.

At 5 p.m., debate will begin on the nomination of Kenneth R. Rapuano of Virginia to be an Assistant Secretary of Defense.

At 5:30 p.m., a voice vote to confirm the Rapuano nomination is expected. A voice vote is then expected on the motion to proceed to S. 722, the Iran sanctions bill.
