9:38 a.m. Senator McConnell secured consent for the cloture vote on the Iran sanctions bill, S.722, to occur at 1:45 p.m.

If cloture succeeds, the post-cloture clock will run as if the vote had been at 10:45 a.m. Thus, post-cloture debate of Iran sanctions would end at 4:45 p.m. Thursday if all time is used.

9:32 a.m. Majority Leader McConnell began Rule XIV proceedings to bring to the floor the budget reconciliation bill, H.R. 1628 (the legislative vehicle for the House health care bill). He spoke about the Iran sanctions bill and said amendments to i are likely to be offered. He spoke about President Trump’s visit to Cincinnati to promote public works legislation.
