9:28 p.m. The Senate stands adjourned until 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26th. Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of the nomination of James Bishop to be Deputy Director of the Office of Management and Budget, post-cloture.

At 11:00 – two votes:

1. Confirmation of the Bishop nomination

2. Motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Aaron Reitz to be an Assistant Attorney General

If cloture is invoked on the Reitz nomination, there will be up to 2 hours of debate. Upon the use or yielding back of time, the Senate is expected to vote on confirmation of the Reitz nomination. Following disposition of the nomination, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Michael Faulkender to be Deputy Secretary of the Treasury.

If cloture is invoked on the Faulkender nomination, there will be up to 2 hours of debate. Upon the use or yielding back of time, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Faulkender nomination. Following disposition of the Faulkender nomination, a roll call vote is expected on the motion to proceed to H.J.Res. 25, disapproving the rule submitted by the Internal Revenue Service relating to “Gross Proceeds Reporting by Brokers That Regularly Provide Services Effectuating Digital Asset Sales”.

If the motion to proceed to H.J. Res. 25 is made and agreed to, a vote on passage of H.J.Res. 25 is expected during Wednesday’s session. Upon disposition of H.J.Res. 25, a roll call vote is expected on the motion to proceed to S.J.Res. 18, disapproving the rule submitted by the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection relating to “Overdraft Lending: Very Large Financial Institutions”.

8:56 p.m. By a vote of 56-44, the Senate confirmed Martin Makary to be a Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration. Democrat senators voting in favor: Durbin, Hassan, and Shaheen.

The Senate will convene at 10:00 a.m. and following any Leader remarks will resume consideration of the nomination of Michael Kratsios to be Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy.

At approximately 12:00 noon the Senate will vote on cloture on the Kratsios nomination.

Following the Kratsios vote, the Senate will recess until 2:15 p.m. to allow for the weekly caucus luncheons.

At approximately 2:15 p.m., if cloture is invoked, the Senate will proceed to two votes:

  1. Confirmation of the Kratsios nomination.
  2. Cloture on the nomination of Jayanta Bhattacharya to be Director of the National Institute of Health.

Additional votes are expected during today’s session.
