Further UC that on Monday, the Senate proceed to a period of morning business for leader remarks, with no motions in order for up to 15 minutes, and following leader remarks the Senate proceed to Executive Session to resume consideration of the DeVos nomination. UC that the Senate proceed to Executive Session to consider the DeVos nomination and adjourn at 1:30 p.m.

10:49 a.m. Senator Hatch paid tribute to LaVell Edwards from Orem, Utah who passed away recently.

6:56 a.m. The Senate is now voting on the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Elisabeth DeVos to be Secretary of Education.
6:55 a.m. H.J. Res. 41 was agreed to by a vote of 52 to 47 with Senator Markey absent.
6:33 a.m. The Senate is now voting on the passage of H.J. Res. 41, disapproval of the Interior Department’s proposed stream protection rule.

Immediately after the regulatory vote, the Senate will vote on whether to invoke cloture on the nomination of Elisabeth DeVos to be Secretary of Education.
If cloture is invoked on the DeVos nomination, there will be up to thirty hours of post-cloture debate before the confirmation vote.
NOTE: Cloture has been filed on the Sessions, Price, and Mnuchin nominations. Cloture votes will occur in that order — with up to 30 hours of debate after each nomination for which cloture has been invoked.
