7:07 p.m. The Senate stands in recess untill 10:00 a.m. Wednesday September 27th, 2023. Following Leader Remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of the Motion to Proceed to H.R. 3935 (FAA, Shell for CR), Post Cloture.

The Senate will recess from 12:30 p.m. untill 2:15 p.m. to allow for the weekly caucus meetings.

No roll votes have been scheduled for Wednesdays Session.

7:05 p.m. Majority Leader Schumer started wrap up

  • At a time to be determined, the Senate will vote on passage of the following joint resolutions (to override the President’s Veto)

7:02 p.m. By a vote of 77-19, the Senate invoked cloture on the motion to proceed to H.R. 3935, (FAA/Shell for CR)

  1. Senators Feinstein, Risch, Scott (SC), and Smith did not vote
  2. Senators Blackburn, Braun, Britt, Budd, Cruz, Daines, Fischer, Hagerty, Hawley, Johnson, Lee, Lummis, Marshall, Paul, Ricketts, Schmitt, Scott (FL), Tuberville and Vance voted No

5:34 p.m. The Senate is now voting on the motion to proceed to H.R.3935, to reauthorize and improve the Federal Aviation Administration and other civil aviation programs (vehicle for a continuing resolution).

5:32 p.m. Majority Leader Schumer spoke about the CR

5:29 p.m. Senator Murray spoke on appropriations.

5:08 p.m. Senator Welch spoke on appropriations and the after effects of the July flooding in Vermont.

4:59 p.m. Senator Collins spoke in support of the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to H.R. 3935, FAA Reauthorization.

4:42 p.m. Senator Blackburn spoke on HHS Secretary Becerra.

4:40 p.m. Senator Durbin spoke about appropriations process and the UAW strike.

:36 p.m. Republican Leader McConnell spoke about the appropriations process.

3:25 p.m. Majority Leader Schumer spoke about the appropriations process and the UAW strike.

3:00 p.m. The Senate convened.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to the bill.
